An "old acquaintance" from Discord just asked if I could help him test a game. It appears to have been a bot.
I was supposed to download it from a website, hoyovor.com. The website looks good, and the game has good graphics and a good-looking trailer. Everything looks legit.
The giveaway was that at the end of the trailer, it quickly flashes the name of another game, "Eloryth," which is associated with other scams. It's only barely visible if you pause the trailer at the right moment.
What initially tipped me off was that absolutely nothing came up with "hoyovor" on Google, not even the website itself.
The website download button gives an .exe file, and when checking with VirusTotal.com, only 1/63 security vendors flagged it as malicious.
