Romance Scam Story

A reddit report about a romance scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Location: Illinois For context, this isn’t the first time this has happened, she has been in legal trouble before for stealing from her mom and doing the same thing. I don’t know what to do, one of her sisters and I have talked about this with her before and we thought that was the end of it, I’ve tried showing her videos of how the elderly get scammed by giving away gift cards. It’s not through like refund scams I know but I’m pretty sure romance scams. She lost our house before (I was 12 at the time) and I believed it was because she couldn’t pay the mortgage anymore as a single mom. I have control over the house we live in now and I pay the mortgage exclusively. Thanks for reading, I’m going to pick her up later today from the hospital, she had a knee replacement yesterday and my aunt and I don’t feel it’s appropriate to talk about it in the next few days but soon like next week.
