So my girlfriend fell victim to a rental scam and sent a “landlord” her application including an address and phone number. Thankfully she didn’t Venmo them, although she came very close before I sounded the alarm. Stupidly, I called the number with my personal phone and insulted the scammer (lesson learned, waste of time). They sounded foreign but had a number from our city and after some time offered to meet up to “shoot me in the head”. Now she’s freaking out, and I’m slightly uneasy myself. Any advice?
