Neighbor falls for AI romance scam, won't believe it

A reddit report about a romance scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

She refuses to believe me. Yesterday she told me to mind my fucking business and then called the cops on me, claiming I'm harassing her. The cops could tell she's got some dementia or something. Poor lady is sending him all her social security, living without power, food, water for weeks at a time, late rent, etc. She's in love and has never FaceTimed him. Because he sends these ten AI videos saying 'good morning Joanne, I love you,' she thinks it's all real. I've called government elderly fraud reports, they said call local police, and I did. No change. I know she's got a brother, couldn't find him, but found a cousin and told them. They are aware, no change except she's very angry. I'm done helping, but she's about to be put on the street and she's sick. I feel bad, but I don't know what else to do.
