Mom falls for fake Luke Bryan romance scam

A reddit report about a romance scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Hey all, I am at a loss. Recently my mom seems to believe she is in an online relationship with Luke Bryan. Apparently they have face-timed and share contact every day. Supposedly he has paid off her credit card and has been buying her gifts. I checked her Amazon and the ‘gifts’ have come out to a bit over 6 grand. I don’t know if he is actually paying for it or if he is claiming to pay off whatever card she is using. My siblings and I are truly stumped on what to do; she is in so deep. She wants to sell the house and everything in it to move in with ‘Luke Bryan’ at the end of April. Please let me know if anyone has any advice or insight, any help is welcome. Edit: I want to thank everyone for the advice and add some additional context. My parents got divorced last year and this is not her first online relationship, but it is the first one that has gone this far. I believe part of the reason is the passing of my father last month.
