The scammer contacted me through the UpScrolled social media app, then moved the conversation to Telegram. After Telegram failed twice, we switched to Zangi. The "relationship" lasted two months. During that time they convinced me we were romantically connected, and they told me they'd been orphaned in childhood and were an adult who cared deeply about the plight of orphans. Then they convinced me to donate money to their charity and also to invest in a fraudulent Bitcoin mining company. I finally got wise to the scam after losing approximately $7,500 in total, as well as selling off many of my personal belongings and purchasing a plane ticket to Spain in hopes of being with the perpetrator. Only after experiencing suspicious activity on the fraudulent Bitcoin mining site did I begin questioning the authenticity of the website and the perpetrator. When I attempted to withdraw the invested Bitcoin from the mining company, it was sent to a crypto wallet other than the wallet it was intended to go to.
