Cheryl Dee Newfoundlands Pup is a scam business operating via Facebook. They identify as a Newfoundland breeder/rescue and are also the administrators of Newfoundland Lovers and Re-home, a separate FB page. I thought I was adopting a puppy that needed to be rehomed. On the day of delivery I was notified via text that I needed to pay a refundable $700 crate fee. Then, 3 hours before her expected deliveryāwhen they were already supposedly 3 hours into the driveāI was notified that I needed to pay a $1500 ārefundableā transport insurance fee. They asked me multiple times for my āApple cash history,ā as did the āshipping company.ā 45 minutes before our expected delivery, it was obvious the puppy hadnāt even left Buffalo and probably didnāt exist. After I refused to pay the insurance fee, there were multiple attempts asking for Apple Pay history, and then I was asked to ājust pay $200 more dollars.ā We never got the puppy and we lost $900. It seems they may have taken a legit breederās page because they are now reposting her posts from last year.
