I fell for a Nordic Energy scam 3-4 hours ago. It seemed legit until I did my research afterwards and realized its poor reputation and criticism. The agent claimed to come on behalf of National Grid (my current provider). Then, after telling me the details along with some other notion I subscribed, he said I was eligible for some benefits from Nordic Energy and that's why he came.
Now for the part where I resolved it. I called Nordic Energy customer services shortly after the agent left, confirming it was part of the provider (and claimed it wouldn't take over my original provider and just help it out). That's when I found out it's true somewhat for short term but it goes overboard long term. When I called customer services, the agent was surprisingly not pushy about it given their reputation. She said my subscription had not been confirmed by the company when I called and was still pending for benefits to be legitimate, so she was able to reject that confirmation on her part and prevent my account (and subscription) from Nordic Energy entirely. She said it should take a few days before the rejection gets confirmed and I'm good to go and go back to just having National Grid with no additional companies on the side.
The question I'm asking is if this was sufficient to cancel it. Does Nordic Energy contact my provider about it? Should I call again tomorrow to double check?
