Someone who I thought was a friend made a GoFundMe this last year to raise money for a pet deposit to keep their dog. They raised the money, then got rid of the dog. They said the landlord changed their mind. I figured the money would have been returned to everyone. Now Iām not sure, because I found out that this now ex-friend has spent ten years in prison for financial crimes ā stealing, getting donations under false pretenses, etc. When I try to click on the link on their Facebook, it says page not found now. How can I tell if they returned money to everyone and if it was a scam?
