Hi everyone, something strange happened today and I wanted to check if anyone else has experienced this. I live in Mahadevpura, Bangalore, and I regularly use Zepto. I always pay online and never place COD orders. Today, three different Zepto delivery partners showed up at my apartment with COD orders that I never placed.
Some odd things I noticed:
- The name on the order was similar to mine but spelled incorrectly.
- The flat number was slightly wrong, though the address was clearly my building.
- When the delivery partner called the customer through the Zepto app, someone else answered and told them to leave the order and go, even though it was COD.
Obviously the delivery partners couldn't leave the order since it was COD, so they cancelled and left. This happened three times in one day, which feels very suspicious.
I'm wondering: is this some new scam or prank happening with quick commerce apps? Has anyone else in Bangalore or India experienced this? Could someone be testing stolen accounts or randomly using addresses? I've already emailed Zepto support about it. Just curious if others have seen something similar.
