I’m posting this because I know I’m not the only one this has happened to.
My WeShop account was deleted for “inactivity” and I was told it can’t be reinstated. At the time it was deleted, there was over £4,600 showing in my account from referrals and activity on the app.
I’ve seen online that they deleted a LOT of people’s accounts around the time they were going on the stock market… after people had been waiting ages… then they basically disappeared and came back just to wipe accounts. 🙄
I was never given any warning that my account was at risk or that I could lose everything if it was deleted. No emails, nothing. They were (and still are) sending me marketing emails during that same period, so clearly I wasn’t just “inactive” in their system.
When I challenged it, they just pointed to their terms about inactivity but haven’t actually explained what happened to the balance. I’ve asked multiple times and they’ve completely avoided answering.
I also never signed any updated terms. They claim logging in counts as accepting them… but at the same time they’re saying I didn’t log in, which is why they deleted my account 🥴
Another thing… they’ve turned comments off on their socials now, which says a lot. The one time they forgot, there were literally hundreds of comments calling them out for the same thing.
The reason I’m posting is because I’ve seen other people mention similar experiences in reviews… accounts being deleted and balances disappearing. I’m trying to find others this has happened to and see if anyone has actually taken it further or had any success (ICO, small claims etc).
