So about a week ago I received an Amazon package in the mail with a random name but my address, and I never opened it. Fast forward to this past weekend (April 5, 2026). I receive an email about an order from Best Buy stating my order was on the way. I at first thought it was a scam email or someone bought something on my account, but turns out it wasn't.
I clicked the link to check the order status and it was an iPad Air getting sent to my house with my government name and correct address. The payment details only showed the last four digits of the card but it is not ANY card that I own.
I called Best Buy to verify what name was on the card and they told me it was my name. I checked my credit report and I have no new open lines and I've checked for any new bank accounts opened in my name and nothing is alerting me.
Next there was a package delivered to my house yesterday (April 6, 2026) with a different name and correct address. I opened it and it was two OURA RINGS. These are $350+ a piece. So now I'm like wtf???
Fast forward to today (April 7, 2026) the iPad gets delivered and on the box under my name the number listed for me is my phone number from high school that I don't even have anymore!!! I'm so weirded out. I just don't understand if someone was trying to come pick it up before delivery why would they put MY email so I can see the order status and tracking?
And before anyone asks this was not a gift from anyone I know.
I'm more so worried about something being opened in my name or a possible stolen CC and someone used my name under the card. I do not want to be charged for something I don't do. Neither packages had an invoice or return label. Is this a brushing scam?
