Ticketmaster Fraud: Bank Won't Reopen My Case

A reddit report about a phishing scam that cost someone $1000.0. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

3 months ago my card was charged for over $1000 and I was sent an email for tickets to a Las Vegas show that I hadn't bought. I immediately notified my bank of fraud and got a new card. However, a month after the incident my bank says they're closing the fraud case because the merchant provided evidence of it not being fraud. When I got the documentation the merchant provided in the mail, it showed that my name, billing address, and card were all used correctly. The only thing the people committing the fraud didn't have was my PIN. They keyed in the card. The merchant also showed that the tickets were printed. Now for the past couple of weeks I've been researching trying to figure out what evidence I can provide to get my bank to reopen the case. I finally spoke to the fraud department representative at my bank and he just sent me in circles. Even when I stated vocally and in writing that I did not authorize this transaction (a transaction that put my bank account in the negative), I showed my inactive Ticketmaster account that had no history of the transaction taking place, and I requested the bank ask the merchant for an IP address because I have bank statements that prove I was in my home state the day the fraud took place. The bank representative just kept saying "how would this explain the tickets being in your email" "if it's a breach of data you need to provide evidence of this breach to explain that" "tickets can't have duplicates why was it sent to your email and printed this seems like a game who would do that kind of fraud". I explained how Ticketmaster works because his claim made no sense. You can still get a confirmation email and after the transaction they give you the option to print the tickets. There can be duplicates of the tickets existing. Then the worker says but it was through your email they were printing this is what Ticketmaster provided. I questioned him, how would Ticketmaster have access to my email to know if it was printed that way? Ticketmaster can only show what happens after the transaction. Anyways after that call I realized the bank is giving me the run around. However I don't know what to do next. I've never experienced this kind of fraud before.
