To be clear, I'm talking about another Reddit account of mine; I don't feel like posting there right now. I got hit with the, "I accidentally reported you, now message me through Discord," scam. Something felt off from the start, but it was only once they asked me to change the linked email that I finally realized it was a scam.
I really should've realized it was a scam as soon as Discord was brought up, but I haven't received any scam messages like this before, so I had no experience combating them. Hopefully this will be a good learning experience. Just like in real life, don't let a stranger take you to a second location lmao.
It was quite sad too, because the account that messaged me was definitely a compromised account. If I was just a smidgeon more naive, that could've been my account trying to scam some other poor sod. I didn't really care about losing my Reddit account, but I didn't want it to fall into some scumbag's grips like theirs did.
