Suspicious PayPal Credit Note

A reddit report about a phishing scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

This is a valid credit on my account and I checked it on my phone app. But everything about the business and note added stinks to high heaven. "Note from Blink Family Inc You received this email because your PayPal account processed a payout by small deposit confirmation. If you authorized it, no action is needed. If not, please contact PayPal Customer Care at +1 (888) (redacted to follow the stupid rules) -8826 immediately to secure your account and request a refund." A basic Google search will show that this number is not a valid PayPal number and goes to the BBB for a different business entirely, saying that they are not an accredited business. Clicking the emailing the business leads to a Gmail account. There is no option to refund or report it.
