I had issues logging into my Microsoft account and contacted them. I was worried about the issue, and I had a long day; I did not feel like talking on the phone, so I set my preferred contact method as email, not phone. They emailed me and asked a lot of questions which, if they had read the details in the support ticket, they would have known and wouldn't have had to ask in the email (nothing account personal like login details, just asking about the issue), and asked if they could call.
The email looked legit. I was going to put it here so anyone could tell me if it was or not, but I got a warning before posting that it might get me banned. Before I even said yes or no, they did call. (I knew it was the number because I had already called with another Microsoft support person earlier today and the number was the exact same; I thought she was calling back like she asked.) He asked for Quick Assist and gave me a code to use because he needed to see my screen to show me what was wrong. I did. He just had red lines guiding me to the place to show me the issues, and that was it. I quickly ended the Quick Assist session. The whole thing probably lasted not even a minute, and I just turned off the computer's WiFi connection and ran an antivirus scan; nothing showed up. Is everything fine then? I just wanted to make sure legit workers would not scam me and I don't have to keep stressing over this. If nothing seems out of the ordinary, I am good? Or is there something else I need to do?
