I got an email from Shein (real email) saying that my order will arrive tomorrow. The thing is, I never ordered anything from Shein, nor did I even set up an account.
I went directly to the website and checked if there was an account under my email. Sure enough, there was!! With a totally different number, a different name (but with my first name), and a totally different address in a different state. There were some past orders (some cancelled) and the one that was arriving.
How is it possible that someone created an account with my email address and was able to purchase stuff from the account?? Why does Shein not verify the email addresses on newly formed accounts? When I tried to delete the account, THAT'S when Shein asks to verify my email address. I wasn't comfortable verifying my real email address with this shady AF company, so I was somehow able to change the email address on the account with a fake one, verify that, and then delete. I just hope my real email address isn't still somehow linked to an account on Shein.
HOW IS THIS LEGAL??????
