Signed memorabilia purchase turns out to be a scam

A reddit report about a phishing scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

I bought a signed piece of memorabilia and paid with a debit card through Shopify/ShopPay, but it hasn’t been delivered yet. I just realized it was a scam. The item says 100% money back guarantee but the email address isn’t accepting new emails. I noticed everything on the site is on sale, and the website says in small print that refunds aren’t applicable for sale items. But the business is based in CA, so I believe the more restrictive customer policy is in effect. I realized the official email links to another name and a clearly fake Gmail account, and the website itself is shoddy. Please help, I’m a student and really don’t have money. How can I get a refund? If it goes to a pickup point and I don’t pick it up, do I get a refund? My bank is not too good so I want to avoid that for now.
