I've been getting phone calls from what I assume is a scam debt collector posing as a mediation service called United Mediation Partners LLC. They keep calling from a new, but working phone number each time, so it is impossible to block their calls. If I call them back on that number, the call does go through to them, so it is not a spoofed number. They never use the same phone number to call me. They leave voicemails when I don't answer and they never say who they are calling for but they offer to settle some debt for sixty percent off.
I think it is possible they have the wrong phone number and are calling for someone else, so I did call them back to tell them that but they wanted my name and last 4 of my ssn and date of birth to talk to me about removing my phone number from their calling list and there is no way I am going to give them such information, if they don't already have it.
This is my spare android cell phone that I rarely answer. It hardly gets any phone calls, and I don't think hardly anyone who knows me even knows this phone number. The only phone calls this old phone gets are from this debt collector.
So, I did some digging, and other than their odd website, there is no trace of this "company" anywhere. Their website has no street address, no p.o. box address, no law license number. Nothing that a normal debt collector law firm would have. But it did have an email address which I used to tell them to stop calling me. They keep calling me and leaving voicemails.
At this point, I really do think they are some sort of scam debt collector. At the very least, they seem to have no interest in actually following the FDCPA. If I learn any more information about them, or if they do something more aggressive with me, I will post it in this thread.
I checked my credit reports, and they are not listed anywhere on them. I checked my local court website, and I am not listed on it, so no one is currently suing me.
