Earlier today, I received this email from a friend with the subject “Gift Items”: Hi, Just asking, do you use Amazon account? Thanks [Name of friend] Sent from my iPhone I receive emails from this friend frequently so I replied “Yes I do”. I didn’t see my friend’s social media post about their email address being cloned until later today. I checked the address and sure enough, the @ is proton dot me. I feel so stupid. Is there anything I should be worried about? Other people who received it also replied but they’ve reported that nothing has happened. I don’t know if I can trust that they’re aware enough of scam effects.
