I got an email yesterday for a remote scheduler job, good pay and 25-40 hrs a week. They had me do 2 screening Google doc forms, then today they emailed saying they're offering me the job. I never had a remote job before, or let alone got a job I didn't actually speak to someone for. The offer letter looks good except they say they'll send a check for a vendor to send me equipment, supplies, and setup. That doesn't seem right to me — why not just buy the stuff and send it to me themselves?
I looked up the company and everything. They have a website, and it seems they have employee reviews but only on Indeed. The company says it's a family business, and the guy that emailed me is basically the owner too, I'm guessing.
But does anyone know how to go about this?! I need a job — I just got laid off and I'm pregnant. Remote would be so nice, but I don't need to be scammed right now too. HELP!
