I had an interview today with CDS, the company that employs the free-sample givers at Costco. I need a job badly, but there were a few red flags, so I'm wondering if anyone else out there has been hired. Here are the flags:
1) I interviewed today and was told during the interview that I passed and would be getting an offer shortly (which I did).
2) All communication, including emails, interview link, and onboarding portal, come from the URL I put in the title. That URL appears to be a hiring company, but I haven't gotten any communication from CDS on company-branded emails.
3) I was told I only have 24 hours to accept or reject the offer, and also if I don't reply at all in 24 hours I will be blacklisted from ever applying there again.
4) The woman who interviewed me spent a long time talking about how within a couple of years I can be making six figures.
5) Since the interview, I have been contacted six times via phone and text by two different people to encourage me to fill out the onboarding paperwork.
6) The first page in the portal for the paperwork asks for my address, birth date, SSN, and driver's license number.
7) When I go directly to the CDS web page, they don't list any job openings in my area (I applied through ZipRecruiter, but I've found definite scams on those sites before).
Maybe it's legit, but the big promises and urgency and initial request of all my sensitive information make me pause. I'm struggling right now, and adding identity theft to the pile would sure make things worse. Has anyone actually applied and been hired by CDS with all these same hoops?
