Phishing Text: 'Department of Legal Compliance' Alert

A reddit report about a phishing scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Wanted to post this here for awareness, and I haven't seen this before in any other threads or Google searches. I'm 99.9% sure this is a phishing scam. I received this text message randomly that had my phone number along with the message "Navigate to the administration registry to clear your auto alert," plus a contact for "Department of Legal Compliance." I haven't done anything recently to warrant this except applying to jobs, which someone probably data farmed my phone number from fake job sites. I didn't click anything, just reported and deleted it. Usually I get these in the form of "you have unpaid tolls" with a scammy link, but this is a first with a contact.
