Mattress Sale on Facebook Marketplace Turns Into Scam Attempt

A reddit report about a phishing scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

I was selling a mattress on Facebook Marketplace. 99.99% sure this dude was scamming, but I want to know if he got too much information from me. Can he do anything with my phone number and email? I can’t imagine he can, but you can never be too safe, and I unfortunately didn’t shut this down fast enough. It was definitely odd from the start—being out of town, and the business account made it even weirder. I was checking the messages while I was out doing things, and when I got home and started replying with the email I got, it became pretty obvious that this was a setup for a scam.
