It was a customer service rep for Trinity Laban, everything seemed very legitimate. The recruitment name checked out, the emails were professional and spelled correctly, with the correct banner present at the bottom of a lot of company emails (not just the logo lol, everything!).
They even had an aptitude test which was similar to loads I've done before and it was incredibly professional, through the HiPeople hiring platform (www.hipeople.io).
I gave over my NI, passport, sort code and account number. Already informed my bank and CIFAS, called the police but there's nothing they can do. Thankfully they don't have my card number or anything to get into my bank but I'm alarmed now at how much information they have on me. I honestly thought it would never be me but this genuinely blindsided me. I cannot express how legitimate everything was, even the email. And in many legitimate jobs I have sent over documents through email so it was not alarming.
The only way I found out was because I was waiting on a reply since last Thursday. I contacted the uni on their enquiry form and they told me they're aware of a scam going about!
The job was even posted on the UK government website for jobs and LinkedIn.
Be aware! From now on I'm only going to apply on a company's website :(
