I think I almost fell for a phishing scam today and now Iām trying to figure out if Iām actually safe. I clicked a link in an email that looked like a normal login page. I started typing my password but something felt off, so I stopped before submitting anything. I immediately closed the tab, disconnected from Wi-Fi, and restarted my phone. I also changed my password afterwards just in case.
What Iām wondering now is: if I never actually pressed submit, could scammers still capture anything just from typing into the field? Also, this whole thing made me realize how easily someone could target you if they already have your email or phone number. Apparently a lot of that info comes from those people-search or data broker sites that publish personal info online.
Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Curious how worried I should actually be.
