Forged Car Finance Claim Signature

A reddit report about a phishing scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

This February I began receiving emails from Courmacs Legal Ltd about my car finance claim. I had made no claim, so I ignored them, but they continued. I replied to one asking why they were emailing me as I had not signed up with them, and I had made a private claim myself. They replied stating I had instructed them, attaching an instruction document with my details and a forged signature dated 2024. The first email I have from them is Feb 2026. On investigation, it appears they have been harvesting data via a 'free car finance check' on Facebook, as this has happened to multiple people. If you have been affected, please report this to the police.
