Fake Polish recruitment agency took €800

A reddit report about a phishing scam that cost someone $800.0. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

I was contacted via social media by a company called Ils Garant Sp. z o.o. (also linked to Dubai, website ils-garant.com) offering recruitment services for jobs in Poland. They provided professional-looking contracts and job offers. They asked for an €800 "recruitment fee". When I questioned the payment method, the manager said their Dubai business account was unavailable and told me to send the money to a personal Polish bank account instead. After the transfer, they sent a fake invoice and then ghosted me. Their website went offline, emails bounced. I later found other victims reporting the same company. Red flags I missed: * Charging a large upfront fee (illegal for legitimate recruitment agencies in Poland/EU in most cases) * Requesting payment to a personal account instead of company one * Pressure and changing payment instructions I have saved all evidence: transfer receipts, email chains, names used, etc.
