I was the victim of an air fare scam. I was trying to find JetBlue customer service due to a mishap when booking a flight. I found a number, though it was off the website, which in hindsight was foolish. I called them and asked if they were JetBlue, and they said they were. After some confusion regarding ticket prices, they found the one I was trying to book and said they could help me with it. They just needed credit card information, which I provided. They then sent an email for authorization—which had discrepancies between the listed price for me to authorize for the ticket, and what the ticket would cost, which I asked about. They then revealed they had taken $150 from my account without my knowledge or authorization to 'hold the seat.' I told them I was not alright with that and was going to find something else, to which they said it was non-refundable. After a lot of arguing, I caved and hit authorize for the remaining amount. But after hanging up and looking up the number, I realized what happened. I blocked my credit card immediately before the rest of the money went through, and called the bank about the $150. They said I would have to wait for the charge to be accepted or denied before I could file a dispute. Thankfully, they only had the card information, not the bank, but I am still extremely upset. Is there any chance of me being able to get the $150 back, or is it unlikely, since I technically authorized part of the transaction but critically not the part that actually went through?
