Fake Google Search Phone Number Scam

A reddit report about a phishing scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Sup everyone, just fyi, never trust the results that come up on Google searches. For some reason I was on autopilot mode and called the number, then gave my email to the scammer on the other line. They asked for my security code and without thinking I gave it to them. Immediately I realized it was a scam because no legit service would ask for the code. Then I logged them out, changed all my details, emails, and password. Anyone else experience anything similar? What can they steal from an Expedia account? I mean, I have a trip booked a couple of months down the line, but I checked with actual Expedia and it's still confirmed.
