Fake Debt Collection Voicemail Scam

A bbb report about a phishing scam that cost someone $0.0. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

The caller left this message: "Hello, this is Miss Payton Gray calling in regards to a pending claim here in my office against you. I do need a return call from either yourself or your attorney if in fact you are represented by counsel today to avoid any further action on this claim. Please give me a brief and immediate phone call back at 404-860-2117 extension 102. I cannot stress the importance of a return phone call as I do not want you to be blindsided by the event that may take place, thank you." The voicemail states the number to call back is 404-860-2117 yet the caller ID showed a different number: 405 608-9586. I did not return the call.
