I got a text message that looked legitimate from my bank fraud department. It said that a login from a different device was noted. The login came from El Paso TX and a Samsung Galaxy. I’m not in Texas and I don’t have a Samsung. The text said to reply if it was me. I replied no. I decided to call the bank directly. I talked to the bank and changed my login. The bank assured me that my account was not compromised. Later, while I was sleeping, I got two more texts saying the same thing. After I woke up I received yet another identical message. I called the bank again. This time the bank asked for more information about where the text messages were coming from. I told them that I changed the password and they said that they would flag my account so that I would need to answer additional security questions. I then blocked the number that sent me the texts and reported them as scam.
