Etsy Seller Stole My Email and Took Over My LinkedIn

A reddit report about a phishing scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

I made a digital purchase which I never got. The seller asked me for my e-mail to track the order. I thought it was Etsy policy, but it's not. Unfortunately, I gave them my email. The seller stopped all communication with me after that, then proceeded to use my email to connect to my LinkedIn. I had to cancel my LinkedIn and replace my credit card. Do not do any business with them—they are a fraudulent business. I've reported them multiple times, but Etsy does absolutely nothing. This seller is waiting for people to fall for the trap. I can't confirm this, but it looks like he created fake reviewers. It's called 'Cozy Black Girl Coloring Pages – 25 Page Set' and the seller’s name is redacted—Reddit doesn't allow sharing the name of the scammer. You have to get scammed and live with it, I guess. Be careful!
