Brushing scam: 50+ mystery Amazon packages

A reddit report about a phishing scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Hi! I hadn't really heard about this scam until it started happening to me, but I've seen a ton of posts about it here. So over the past few weeks, I've received probably 50+ unordered packages from Amazon. I recently had a baby shower, and didn't realize my address was public (used Babylist registry). Most of the items are cheaper seeming toys (everything I've received is baby related) and books, but I have also received some more expensive items (very expensive stroller, car seat, breast pump). I've reported every package to Amazon, but there is no return address and Amazon says they cannot tell me who is sending these items. The items are not from family/friends. I have refused the 3 items sent through USPS. Is there anything else I should be doing? I locked all my credit cards and check bank statements daily. I took my address off Amazon, but that hasn't stopped anything. Cleared all cookies and search history online, removed all passwords, etc. I've read that sometimes people will come and try to steal the items back, so I'm getting a bit paranoid. I also reported to the FTC, but who knows how long it'll take to get a response.
