Beware: canada-eta.visasyst.com is a scam

A reddit report about a phishing scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Just want to be helpful to people here (there might be topics about this issue already but they are old, and were hard to find, so here's a hot take): * Do not use canada-eta.visasyst.com for your electronic travel authorization (ETA) application (or Autorisation de Voyage Electronique (AVE) in French). My parents got distracted, they thought they were using the link I sent them, and got scammed. Go to the government website: it's a canada.ca website, in the sections IRCC (Immigration, Citizenship, etc.). It costs 7$CAD (not 150$)! * Also, FYI, they'll send you another email to coerce you into paying another 150$ for a Customs Declaration: YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO IT. It's either done in person upon landing, or you can check your import rights and instructions for country of origin on the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) or with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), both on their .gc.ca websites. Stay safe out there :')
