I (22M) got a 'part time job' offer. This was suspicious because I never applied to any part time job. They told me they would mail a check as payment before starting work. They used a somewhat official email for payroll services, which is how I get paid for my actual job. I didn't think anything about it, so they mailed the check and I have it physically with me. I haven't deposited anything yet because something in my mind is telling me it's a scam. They keep messaging and calling about why I haven't deposited the check. They also wanted me to buy $200 in bitcoin and send it to an address. I haven't done either. I'm only writing this to tell my story of a check scam I got roped into, and I was lucky that I had second doubts. I still have the check here with me.
