WhatsApp Account Stolen in Suspected SIM Swap

In the morning I received a notification with a 6-digit code to change my WhatsApp number, and a couple hours later I got completely logged out of WhatsApp. I tried retrieving the account by logging in with a code, but the codes are not getting received. And it’s happening not only with WhatsApp but with other applications. I’ve got a suspicion someone somehow intercepted my number, or got access to it via SIM Swap or something like that. I changed the number on almost all of my important accounts and made sure to check and set up 2FA. But this is weird, did anything like that happen to anyone here?
