A week ago I got this letter in the mail from the "Motor Vehicle Services" and it had an immediate action requested. I called and was told that the car was already under the system but hasn't been renewed since New Year's. I decided to renew it. I did no research nor did I think it could be a scam because I didn't want to be in debt, have protection for my car, and overall just wasn't thinking at the time.
They took down my card info and so far it's only been one payment of $189 bucks. Now that I'm looking at other people's posts about it, I feel like I might have gotten scammed. This is the only time I've heard about this letter despite them trying to contact me.
I was able to get the information of the person helping me and even their phone number; they said to reach out in case I have any further questions. That's why I'm not sure whether this is a scam. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
