QVC Fraud Letters Sent to My Address

A reddit report about a other scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

I received fraud letters from QVC stating VISA has reversed the charges on 3 flex payments due to fraud for some product purchased. The address on the letter is mine, and the name on the letter is like a comical name of mine. Pretending my name is John Doe, the name on the letter is Johnny Doestan. I looked through all my credit card statements, and no QVC charge appears. I looked at all three credit reports, and I have no unknown credit cards. While I was looking at my reports, I did add credit freezes and fraud alerts at all three credit bureaus. QVC wants the product back, which I don't have. I can't contact QVC's fraud department until Monday. What's the scam here? Someone used my name(ish), and my address, and someone else's credit card, stole from QVC, and the other CC holder instituted a fraud charge?
