I keep getting Capital One offer letters in the mail, and at the bottom of the paper it says "You can choose to stop receiving 'prescreened' offers of credit from this and other companies by calling the toll-free 1-888-5-OPT-OUT." I fucked up and called 1-800 instead of 1-888. I feel like such a dumbass. The number said it was some prescreening / rewards line. Talked to some AI bot who asked for my full name and phone number and then got me to say "yes/confirm." Then after that it offered me a bunch of random free shit instead of opting out, so I looked back at the letter and realized I had the wrong number and hung up. Am I fucked now? Did I share crucial info? Anything I should look out for now? Thanks for your time and help.
