Fake Escort Booking Led to Threats and Payment

A reddit report about a other scam that cost someone $500.0. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Received a call from a guy saying I've been wasting his girl's time. He wouldn't go into any details and claimed she was working so I couldn't talk to her. I tried asking for the area to see if he knew my whereabouts, but he dodged the question. He wanted £500 to leave me alone. I've only been on Viva Street once and never made a booking. Are the threats fake? He mentioned in one of the calls that he knows I have a child. This scared me, so I ended up paying but managed to negotiate him down. He then asked for money two more times. I reported everything once the fear wore off, and now I'm being asked to send screenshots of the payments because his accounts are locked. I'm really scared about anything happening. I've seen a few posts like this from others. Has anyone ever had any follow-up? UK based, caller was Eastern European.
