Fake Canada Post Cheque Delivery Scam

A reddit report about a other scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

I have been getting no caller ID calls for months. Then my wife started getting them too. She picked up once, they said Canada Post, and she hung up. Today I got a call from them again claiming Canada Post. They said my old company had a cheque to send me and I need to show my driver's license to receive it. They had my name and last two addresses. They wanted to know when they could deliver, or they could deliver to my work. I gave my work address. She said someone will be there Monday and call me. I spoke to my old workplace after. They said they never mailed anything and that it's a scam. I do have some collection accounts that are trying to contact me, but not sure. This was so weird. They were calling me and my wife till I picked up today, and it's been going for a while, the no caller ID calls.
