Cars & Bids Scam Uses My Photos and Old Username

A reddit report about a other scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Bought a vehicle on Cars & Bids, and now I get people looking me up and reaching out to see if I still own the car. The username has been changed, but the old one remains on the auction. At least some people are smart enough to try and look up the person who is supposed to own the vehicle and see if they're about to get scammed. Scam breakdown: someone posts all pictures from Cars & Bids on Facebook Marketplace, then links it back to a website to make it look like a real listing from a repo company. The vehicle is posted for half the price, conveniently. The company only accepts wire transfers on the vehicle. I know the website where the listings are and the user who's posting the listings on Facebook. If anyone has any idea how I can go about reporting this and getting it shut down, I'd much appreciate it.
