PSA for Web3 devs: be careful with random LinkedIn “recruitment” outreach. I was approached for a Smart Contract Developer role by “Mellus Protocol.” After digging in, it looked like a 100% scam. Copied DeFi protocol language, vague claims, and no credible public footprint to back it up. They wanted me to download and work on their codebase as a technical assessment. Posting this so it shows up if anyone searches the name. If you get approached, do not rely on the polished pitch alone. Verify the company, verify the team, verify the codebase, and search suspicious wording. A lot of these scams borrow legitimacy from real projects.
