Just posting this to warn others about a scammer operating on Facebook Marketplace.
The business name used was Triple M Events.
He presents himself as a very confident salesman and will usually push to get you on a phone call quickly. On the call he sounds very professional and convincing about marquee hire and event setup, and he’ll assure you he can do a great job.
What happened in my case:
• Agreed to hire a marquee for an event.
• Paid a deposit to secure the booking.
• He kept in contact leading up to the event, which made everything seem legitimate.
• On the day of the event he completely disappeared — no calls answered, no texts, nothing.
This caused a lot of stress and last-minute problems for the event.
I reported the issue to Facebook Marketplace, but they said they wouldn’t be taking any further action.
Just posting this so others are aware. If you see Triple M Events, please be cautious and do not book with them.
If anyone else has had a similar experience, it would be useful to share it here so people know to avoid this.
