I contacted this business for a simple dishwasher repair—a broken spring on the door. Their website stated: 'We're upfront about our pricing. Before starting any repair, we provide a clear labour estimate — so there are no surprises at the end, regardless of how long the repair takes.' They also told me on the phone that there was an $85 service call fee to get an assessment, which is fairly typical. However, I discovered that they use that simply to get their foot in the door. When the 'technician' arrived, he was very rude and aggressive. He took a 1-minute look at the dishwasher and demanded in a very rude and aggressive way that I pay a $250 flat-rate labour fee up front before he did anything, and demanded that it be paid via debit (no credit card accepted), even if it would be a 10-minute job. Then he 'sold' his scam by saying that if parts were required there would be no extra labour charge other than for the parts and they would come back and do the job. After literally less than 10 minutes and him roughly pulling out the dishwasher and leaving it in a worse situation than when he arrived, he declared that the door needed new springs. He quoted the cost for those parts at $466.21!! My husband found them online afterwards for $16. When I refused and pushed back and made a fuss about the scam, he grabbed his backpack and bolted for the front door, not even closing it as he left. That is when I knew I'd been another victim of this company's fraud and scam tactics. Then I read on Reddit some terrible experiences from others that exactly mirrored my experience. I felt violated and scammed and vulnerable in my own home as a senior woman alone at the time. He left the dishwasher in a worse shape with a cord hanging loose. My husband tried calling again and simply got punted from one person to the next with no resolution. The document he made me sign indicates that the 'labour' fee would be paid at the end of the service by debit or cash only. But this 'technician' made me pay for it up front before he began. There also is a section on the 'contract' that states: 'the appliance was left in a working condition and this was demonstrated to me.' He did not leave it in the same condition he found it and he did not demonstrate anything, and he bolted for the front door before I noticed the state he had left it in. He also did not get me to sign that particular statement. Please do what you can to stop this scamming business to protect others from significant financial loss. What a total and utter scam this company is! Customer BEWARE!
