I was trying Tinder for the first time, and this week I got matched with 2 different girls with verified profiles. Both claimed to be living in the Philippines and said they were visiting the US next month. They talk to you and want to move to WhatsApp right away. I denied it, saying that I really don’t like to give out my number right away, and they started saying they’re not active on the app. When I declined their offer to move off the app, they instantly unmatched me. And I’m like, is this a scam that’s been happening on Tinder? I know about overseas scams where they want you to get emotionally attached and those kinds of things, and I really think this is a pattern. It’s just so weird that both are coming from the Philippines lmao. Did this happen to anyone here? I actually gave my number to the first girl but stopped after saying it was not going to be worth my time to figure out if it was a scam, so I just didn’t even reply anymore.
