Scam Prevention Guide

A reddit report about a impersonation scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

I receive a couple of texts a week from some "insurance quote" site about a specific car I don't own. A 2022 Buick. I also periodically postal junk mail similar, and again for a '22 Buick. I guess I have three questions: 1. Is there something nefarious out there about me owning a specific car. Like did someone title one in my name or address? Should I check DMV? Why are different outlets saying I own this specific vehicle? 2. Is this a broader scam about insurance. Bottom line I never respond to any "hey let us help you" offer unless I contacted them first. Random offers are normally junk, so I ignore them. 3. Any experience with the website shown in the texts? Any thoughts the hive has on this situation will be appreciated. I'm most concerned if I need to look for some sort of ID theft that has me holding the bag on someone's getaway car. :) https://preview. redd. it/07xtwsfgv8qg1. png?width=752&format=png&auto=webp&s=eeef49b4b5381a0bb72da424a7c9c3c6a62eee7b
