TikTok streamer's imposter asked for gifts, sent wrong clips

A reddit report about a impersonation scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Hi there. There is a streamer on TikTok—nice woman, kind and sociable, talked plenty in live. After sending a decently big gift, "she" messaged from her TikTok asking to talk more. I gave my Telegram, and the language seemed off from her speaking pattern. Also, every other sentence was gift requests, and then after a few days she started to offer vids or pics for big gifts for her or streamer friends. So in her live I asked her about streaming friends. She said she had one but she was taking a break for a month. So I messaged her Telegram while she streamed, and there was a reply while her hands were busy laughing—so it wasn't her talking. It seems TikTok streamers have their boss or company talking for them to get gifts? I tried to get more info, and when I started to ask for pics and such or previews, it's funny—the streamer is Filipina, black hair and tan/caramel, very slim, and the clips were of white and chubby 🤣. I called them out on it, and now no more messages haha. Just posting this so everyone is aware of it. Honestly I like the streamer, so I was tempted to send the gifts anyway, but now it's just pure sketchy 🤣. If I could, I would report her to get her removed. I did report, but so far nothing has come of it, so I'm spreading the word here.
