We were in Stratford London when this guy came up to my bf in desperation and an extremely stressed out tone, telling him his 'situation'—that he wanted to go back to Ireland but all his cards got stolen when he was at the cafe. He showed us his empty wallet, he even faked tears, showed us the app and also the tech support section confirming that he couldn't cancel the transaction and it may take up to one business day for international transactions. It was on a weekend. He then asked my bf to trust him that he wouldn't cancel the transaction, but he didn't have that money in his bank at the time. We told him we were students and we were sorry, and he said even 250 is okay, and asked my bf what the money in his account was. When he saw he didn't have enough, he kinda abruptly walked off and said it's ok while my bf kept assuring him he would keep in contact and transfer back his money. Today he checked and we're pretty sure he blocked him and no money came in obviously. I can't believe people like this exist, it's so disgusting. I nearly even caved because honestly speaking I could've helped out and his tearing up and acting seemed so so sincere but I didn't trust him entirely.
